Your bodycasting session. A comprehensive guide to the creative process with Painted By Light.

Before the Session

  • Exfoliate & Moisturize Take care of your skin's condition a few days prior. Well-moisturized skin ensures better and more precise details in the final cast.
  • Casual Wear Wear loose and comfortable clothing. The creative process can get a little messy, so we recommend avoiding your favorite or valuable outfits.
  • Skin Preparation If we are casting an area with denser body hair, we recommend gently trimming the hair or applying baby oil to make the process comfortable.

During the Session

Focus and Creation

We use only the highest quality, skin-safe alginate. The semi-liquid mass is initially cool and very pleasant to the touch, and it sets in just a few minutes to create a perfect mold.

You will be required to hold your chosen pose completely still for about 10-15 minutes. Treat this time as a moment of deep relaxation and meditation. Our team will ensure your absolute comfort at every stage.

After the Session

  • Cleansing We remove the flexible mold, which naturally pulls away from the skin. Any remaining residue easily washes off with warm water immediately after the session.
  • Studio Magic Your part comes to an end, but for us, it's just the beginning. We fill the unique mold with fine casting stone, freezing time in a beautiful sculpture.
  • Finishing Touches After a thorough drying process and precise artisanal detailing, we apply your chosen finish – from raw white to classic bronze.

Pro Tips

Hydration

Drink plenty of water the day before your session. Properly hydrated skin makes removing the alginate mold much easier and seamless.

Time

Book an adequate amount of time in your schedule. Rushing is the enemy of art – we want you to feel relaxed and calm.

Details

Decide beforehand whether you want your jewelry to be immortalized. Rings cast perfectly, but the final vision is entirely up to you.
